Australian Association of Special Education National Conference will provide an opportunity for educators, families, community members and key stakeholders to come together to collaborate, share knowledge and learn together. The Conference Committee is working towards creating a program which is evidence informed and promotes new ways of thinking and practical ways of improving inclusive practice, personalized learning and differentiation, collaborative partnerships with families and supportive transitions for students with diverse learning needs.
On behalf of the AASE Tasmanian Conference Committee it is our pleasure to invite you to register for the 2019 Australian Association of Special Education National Conference.
This year’s Conference will be held in Tasmania, the beautiful Island State in the stunning harbour city of Hobart. The Conference will commence with a Welcome Reception on the evening of Sunday 22nd, September at the Waterman’s Bar in the historic setting of the Salamanca warehouses. The Conference will be held at the Hotel Grand Chancellor overlooking Constitution Dock on Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th September. The Conference dinner will be a chance to network with colleagues in the beautiful surrounds of the Huon Valley at the Willie Smith Cider Shed, with great local food, drink, a bush band and dancing.
The theme for the 2019 AASE National Conference is Flourishing Learners in Thriving Learning Communities. The Conference streams will cover the key areas of:
- Inclusive Practice
- Working in Partnership
- Engagement and Wellbeing
We are excited to have confirmed Nathan Wallis, Dr Jeffrey Thomas and Dolly Bhargava as three of our keynote speakers along with a full program of concurrent workshops. At the 2019 Conference we are also extremely delighted to welcome the new National Patron of AASE, Chris Varney, founder of the I Can Network, who will be working with us throughout the event.
