Job Posting – Accounts Receivable Assistant

Maxx North America Services Ltd., one of Alberta’s most progressive and innovative pipeline and water management service companies, is looking to hire a team spirited accounts receivable/ payable assistant to work with our accounting team. This is an ideal position for candidates who are looking to step into the accounting profession. Reporting to the Controller, the ideal candidate will work with AR and AP team to ensure receivable and payable transactions are completed in a timely manner.
Job Duties:
• Prepare clients’ invoices and send to clients or upload to their portal,
• Follow up with clients (Reminding customers about upcoming payments or past-due accounts)
• Record customer payment and apply to invoices,
• Enter vendor invoices and matching PO’s.
• Work closely with AR Accountant to ensure all projects related vendor invoices are captured to
accurately record the cost of goods/services sold,
• Analyse AR/AP aging reports, spot concerns and escalate,
• Assist with ERP upgrade by performing user acceptance tests,
• Work closely with other Finance team members to maintain the integrity of all financial operations,
• Assist in analyzing and summarizing General Ledger account information for reconciliations,
• Assists departmental managers and other employees as required,
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Completion of high school and an accounting/business certificate program from an approved business school/post-secondary institution,
• Knowledge and understanding of provincial and federal legislation (GST/HST/PST) regarding
accounts receivable/payable duties is an asset,
• Knowledge of corporate and departmental policies, procedures, bylaws and processes in the
performance of accounts receivable/payable duties.
• Knowledge of accounting and administrative procedures. Experience with finance and accounting
systems including Excel, Word, Outlook etc.,
• A minimum of two years’ experience in accounting including accounts receivable/payable
experience.
