Analyst

Job description:

As an analyst with Cocoon Capital, you will have the opportunity to understand the venture capital industry inside and out. We are curious, debate, and work together within a flat structure to make sure that we identify founders who Dare to Change™ the status quo and who will build unique, fast-growing and resilient businesses. Once identified, we ensure that our founders have the best opportunities to succeed through coaching, mentoring, introductions, and support.

Responsibilities:

An analyst at Cocoon Capital is expected to:

• Conduct in-depth market research and business analysis to evaluate potential investments and identify attractive opportunities
• Develop financial models and prepare comparable companies and precedent transactions to aid investment analysis
• Assist in communication with portfolio company founders
• Assist in management of our deal pipeline
• Assist in the development of our databases and templates
• Support the general operations of the company
• Actively work on marketing the fund to Southeast Asia’s startup ecosystem

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
• At least 2 years of experience, preferably within venture capital, private equity or investment banking
• Prior work experience in a startup is a plus but not a requirement

Skills

• An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to handle multiple complex projects concurrently and deliver on time
• Excellent communication skills, able to distill analysis down for founders and investment partners
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with senior management, both internally and externally
• Independent problem solver who thrives in a fast and dynamic work environment
• Strong proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint or equivalent
• Strong proficiency in financial modelling and valuation analysis, including cap tables and deal terms
• Strong networking skills
• Fluent in verbal and written English, fluency in a second language is a plus but not a requirement
