The Copywriter, Digital Content will support the overall digital experience and content strategy by bringing GT’s digital content to life. The successful candidate will work closely with the Site Experience, Digital Marketing, Site Operations, Product Management, Marketing and PR teams to create engaging customer focused content.

The Copywriter, Digital Content will be responsible for developing, maintaining and owning the Digital Content Style Guide as well as writing and editing non-product copy for all digital channels, including the website (UX, homepage, landing pages, buying guides, blogs etc.), email and social channels. In this role the Copywriter, Digital Content will also develop strategies and processes to optimize content ensuring it meets business needs as well as supports the customer along their journey.

A strong understanding of brand tone and voice, digital best practices and a knack for digital storytelling is essential.

Copywriter, Digital Content; Job Responsibilities:

Execution

  • Write and/or edit original and on brand customer-focused content for the website, marketing and transactional emails and social channels

  • Write and/or edit original long form content (blogs, buying guides, etc.)

  • Bring Giant Tiger’s brand to life through creative and fun copy

  • Ensure messaging is consistent and on brand across all channels

  • Ensure all content including promotional campaigns have effective messaging across all digital channels

  • Strong understanding of digital design best practices with a clear point of view as to where copy can influence and guide the customer on their journey

  • Craft clear, concise and compelling stories across different digital channels

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the customer and work closely with the Product Management team to improve functionality and usability

  • Skilled at simultaneously working on multiple projects with various deadlines

  • Ensure accuracy of copy, pricing and item descriptions

  • Support editing and/or proofing needs as required

  • Ability to write a variety of content and adapt tone and style based on the output

  • Flexible with an ability to thrive in a fast pace ever changing environment

  • Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize work

  • Create and maintain a database for copy

  • Understanding of SEO best practices

  • Maintain a strong understanding of market trends

Strategy:

  • Develop and own the Digital Content Style Guide

  • Develop strategies and processes to optimize content ensuring it meets business needs as well as supports the customer along their journey

  • Participate in digital content planning and creative concepts for regular content as well as projects, key events and promotions

  • Present concepts and ideas to the Digital Leadership team

  • Conduct market research to stay up-to-date on trends influencing strategic decisions

  • Use data and site metrics to inform decisions

  • Collaborate and strategize with Digital Design Studio, Site Operations, Digital Marketing, Product Management and Marketing Teams

  • Monitor and report on SLAs continuously striving to improve lead times

  • Confidence to make quick decisions that are aligned to the overall strategies of the business

Copywriter, Digital Content; Key Qualifications:  

  • Marketing or Communications diploma preferred

  • 5 + years of related digital content (web, email, social) copywriting experience; in-house or agency

  • 2-4 + years’ experience in ecommerce

  • Experience in both Agile and Scrum

  • A portfolio illustrating your ability to deliver on brand digital content

  • Ideal candidate is bilingual (English/French).
