This position will support the Global Citizenship department within the Company’s People & Development Division, reporting to the Regional Lead of Global Citizenship, based in Hong Kong.

The Manager will be part of a global team working to achieve ambitious goals related to social impact and human rights in our global supply chain. This role will engage with a cross-section of supply chain stakeholders to drive positive impact for workers in addition to participating actively in broader industry initiatives to scale efforts. The Manager will be responsible for leading our engagement with part of our APAC supply chain which typically supplies for Knit, Sweater and Home categories, as well as our initiatives with Better Work for workers and on Respect and Inclusion.

  • Support the delivery of the Global Citizenship team goals on human rights, worker well-being, and social impact with special responsibility for Better Work and SLCP and supplier performance in the Knit, Sweater and Home suppliers in APAC region.
  • Be the compliance experts on social risks of key sourcing countries like China, Cambodia and Indonesia.
  • Execute the supplier social performance assessment program, which includes assessment report reviews and analysis, and follow-up remediation with facilities, leveraging established/ industrial tools for the suppliers.
  • Assist the suppliers to participate in BW program and SLCP and follow-up with BW country teams and brand collaboration teams in a timely manner to strengthen the social performance’s capability with the suppliers.
  • Proactively communicate with internal business stakeholders on the suppliers’ performance, including present updates on strategy and programs.
  • Assist with the strategy development and the implementation of worker well-being workstreams such as wage management strategy, effective grievance system, and respect and inclusion in supply chain.
  • Attend industry conferences and meetings and build relationships with peers in other companies to stay abreast of trends and emerging topics within CSR and responsible sourcing.
  • Work with global team across multiple time zones.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 8+ years professional business experience, preferably in corporate social responsibility, social sustainability, human rights, or ethical trade.
  • Experience in leading industry membership engagements (i.e. BW, SAC) preferred
  • Experience in the apparel industry preferred.
  • Must be able to manage confidential information with integrity.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly motivated and eager to learn new topics.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Able to manage effective relationships and successfully partnering with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in both Chinese and English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, esp. in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Must be willing to participate in off-hours conference calls.
