Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously improve and develop business performance within constraints.
  • Responsible for managing events and ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Evaluate the quality of SEV suppliers and recommend changes where appropriate.
  • Liaise and negotiate terms and contracts with key vendors, sponsors, and partners.
  • Hire, train, and educate part-time staff on proper event protocols/procedures, particularly day-of logistics.Negotiate and coordinate payments to vendors and prepare & manage documents to track expenses.
  • Provide effective and timely service to all clients assigned and manage each relationship professionally and profitably.
  • Utilize IT solutions to evaluate event performance/quality and prepare metrics presentations to plan improvements.
  • Communicate progress, client/event feedback and results of business development activities internally as requested.
  • Proof all materials prepared by creative, media, studio, print shop and production before presenting to sponsors/partners and ensure other account executives maintain high standards of attention to detail.
  • Stay informed on the latest industry trends and best practices and share with team members where appropriate.
  • Manage staff and allocate staff resources according to changing needs in alignment with our partners.
  • Coordinate elements of events such as conferences, shows, charity events, business meetings, employee appreciation events and virtual events.
  • Work closely with the COO & Race Director in managing senior-most relationships leading up to and during event week. This includes venue owners, sponsors, regulators and government authorities, third-party service providers, vendors, public safety providers and volunteer staff coordinators.
  • Develop clear and comprehensive presentation materials for sponsors, corporate partners, and government authorities.

Experience/Requirements:

  • Ability to do detailed PowerPoint Presentations.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of resources.
  • Willing to work evenings and weekends during events.
  • Experience implementing health and safety procedure.
  • Strong Project Management experience or certification.
  • Prior experience in event management/production preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to negotiate.
  • Experienced with a wide range of events, logistical issues related to events and producing new solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (events management, hospitality, communications, marketing, finance, behavioural science, sports management) or similarly striking life experience is required.
